The story of the Getting My First Dog franchise has humble beginnings. It begins at Carnegie Mellon University, in the School of Art building. Aspiring illustrator Pete Sheehan asks his younger siblings to write him a picture book. He makes it and, after getting good response from his classmates and professors, he sends it to Harper Collins. Much to his and his siblings surprise, it got published!

In the years since then, a lot has changed. There's been a movie, games, and several sequels to the original stories! The newest book, "Getting My 4th Dog," as well as the upcoming TV series, is from now on going to be written by the M.M.F.S.P.P.A.M (Marisa Michael Faith Sofia Peter Predictive Analysis Machine), an amazing story telling program that can figure out how to tell the best stories while making the most beautiful artwork to go along with it.
